TEAM PAWS Chicago is proud to be designated as an Official Charity of the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon!
Put your best paw forward and join Team PAWS Chicago - Chicago's fastest growing charity team. Compete for homeless pets in any race across the country or around the world!
Three featured races in Chicago include group training, a team of other animal lovers, and race-day benefits.
2011 Team PAWS Chicago had more than 500 members who raised one-third of the cost to operate PAWS Chicago's cageless No Kill Adoption Center! Homeless pets receive no government funding and are dependent on the animal loving community. With even more members in 2012, PAWS Chicago will have the resources to save the lives of more homeless cats and dogs.
As a team member, you will enjoy a new social network of animal loving athletes, accomplish a personal milestone and save many lives in the process.
We ask that each team member commit to raising a minimum of $600 (or $1,000 if TEAM PAWS Chicago provides you with a post-close charity entry into the Bank of America Chicago Marathon) for PAWS Chicago. We will give you your own personalized online fundraising Web page, and you will have ongoing support from PAWS Chicago. Most team members find that it is not difficult to meet, and even exceed, this goal!
PAWS Chicago is a national model for No Kill animal sheltering and is building a No Kill community where pets are no longer killed because they are homeless.
In 2007, PAWS Chicago opened the Midwest's only cageless, state-of-the-art, No Kill shelter. With proactive adoption and spay/neuter programs, more than 5,000 dedicated volunteers, and a nationally renowned shelter medicine program, PAWS Chicago is transforming animal welfare and saving lives.
In 2011, PAWS Chicago found homes for more than 4,300 homeless pets and performed more than 18,000 free and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, the majority for families who could not otherwise afford the procedure. These two efforts are reducing the number of unwanted pets entering shelters and increases the number of lives saved.
